Your words stay yours.
Clamshell makes cards and newspaper front pages on your iPhone. It does not send your drafts or prints to us. If you choose to post a score, Apple Game Center handles the leaderboard.

Data in the app
Clamshell stores your messages, newspaper headlines and stories, type style, paper and ink choices, saved prints, creation dates and the state of the press locally in its app storage. It also stores local identifiers, rendering seeds, plate alignment and scores so the app can display a saved print consistently. Clamshell stores your sound preference locally.
Clamshell has no app-operated account or server, advertising or analytics SDK. Creating prints works offline. The next section describes optional Game Center features.
Optional Game Center leaderboard
Opening the global leaderboard or posting a score starts Apple's native Game Center sign-in if needed. If you choose to post an unguided newspaper result, Clamshell sends its numeric registration score to Apple Game Center, associated with your Game Center player profile. Game Center can show your profile and score to other players. Clamshell does not send your headline, story, masthead, drafts, print images or clipboard contents to Game Center.
Posting is optional and requires a separate tap. You can make, save and share prints without a Game Center account. The leaderboard excludes guided editions. Clamshell does not use Game Center information to advertise to you or track you. Apple manages your Game Center account and stored leaderboard data under Apple's Game Center privacy information. Deleting a local print or removing Clamshell does not itself remove a score already posted to Game Center. Use Apple's Game Center account and privacy controls for that data.
Sharing and printing are your choice
When you send a card, lettering sticker, newspaper or printable sheet, Clamshell gives a locally rendered PNG image, PDF or chosen text to the standard iOS sharing interface. You choose the destination. Printing uses the iOS printing interface and a printer you choose. Copy image, Copy words and Copy press result write the chosen output to the clipboard only when you ask. Clamshell does not read the clipboard. A press result includes the headline, score, plate results, an edition code and an App Store link. The app does not send a copy to us.
An app, service or printer you select may process the output under its own terms and privacy policy. Copies you share or print are separate from the copy in Clamshell.
Device storage and backups
Your current draft and cards stay in the app until you change or remove them. Deleting a card removes it from the current drawer. It does not change an exported backup or a preserved archive copy. Preserved archive copies stay in local app storage until you remove the app. If a saved archive cannot be read, Clamshell may keep a separate local recovery copy before writing a fresh archive. Before Clamshell restores an archive, it preserves the current local archive. Clamshell does not upload recovery copies automatically.
You can explicitly export an archive or preserved recovery file to a location you choose, or select a file to restore. These files contain message text, card designs and their local metadata. Keep them private. A storage provider or person you choose may process a shared file under their own policy. Exporting does not send the file to us.
iOS may include app data in backups according to your device and backup settings. Clamshell does not provide its own cloud sync, and we cannot access your Apple-managed backups.
Deleting the app removes its local app storage. Offloading can retain app documents and data. The relevant app, service or device settings manage exported archives, shared images and backups separately.
Permissions and Apple services
Clamshell does not request access to the camera, microphone, location, contacts or photo library to create cards. System sharing features or a destination app may show their own permission prompts.
Apple handles App Store purchases, distribution and any device diagnostics you choose to share with Apple under Apple's policies. Clamshell does not add an in-app analytics or crash-reporting service.
Support and this website
If you email support, the developer uses the information you send to answer your request. Please do not include sensitive text or private cards unless they are necessary to explain the issue.
This website includes no analytics, advertising, cookies, external fonts or third-party embeds. Your browser sends standard connection information to the provider serving the website so it can deliver the page.
Changes and questions
If the app's privacy practices change, the developer updates this policy and the App Store privacy details. The effective date above identifies this version.
